In September of 2010, with the blessing of my family, I left North Carolina to help my father. My father had named me as his Power of Attorney and Medical Surrogate. I handled his affairs and managed his care until his death on August 23rd, 2013.


During those three years, there were also other unexpected and distressing family changes. My sister's and my daughter's support was key. In his last days, my father suffered from dementia and was 96 when he passed. His house sold in December of 2013, and I returned to Raleigh, to be with my daughter. Now I can be active again as a coach and VO talent.
